Came across this meter which could be useful to us...looks good on paper.
Measures field strength down to 0.1 mV/M which is 1000uV/M. Maybe less, the 0.1 mV/M is a range setting. Says it measures transmitter radiated power and includes the 88-108 FM band Could be OK for us in Canada? Maybe USA too.
Check this out... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tenmars-TM-195-3-Axis-EMF-RF-High-frequency-Filed-Strength-Meter-50MHz-3-5GHz-/281519601610?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item418be037ca
$123.50 from China(where else)

A typo is a "typographical error" which usually amounts to a misspelled word, and look at the ebay page for the meter...
Filed Strength Meter.
Mark's link states that the Tenmars TM-195 is a broadband instrument to measure total power density summed over its operational range of 50MHz~3.5GHz.
So this instrument would be incapable of resolving the fields of a single, unlicensed, "Part 15" operator/operation, unless NO other radiating sources were received by that device at the time of the measurement.
That scenario is very unlikely, given the number and geographic distribution of licensed FM/TV broadcast stations, cellphone service terminals, and neighborhood WiFi operators (among others).
It's easy for the quick reacting among us to grab at this measuring stuff because we THINK it'll do what we think it'll do, but it's very wise to check here at the part 15 website to be sure.
And Rich has a very important bit of advice in his post just before this one.
If you aren't sure what it means, keep your money in your pocket and just ask.
You will get NOWHERE with the thing mentioned at the top of this thread, although the poster shared the info with the best of intentions.
