Too bad I didn't see this post before the ALPB meeting or I would have brought the issue up.
My personal opinion is that it's a good idea - we're a democratic group, but I'm not sure that this should wait until the next meeting in 2 weeks. I'll try to let the other members know (if they haven't seen your post already).
I've seen this thread and totally agree with the proposal made by TIB.

Nothing happens fast in government time, this attention-getting clammor by the FCC is a one-off. There is no stage two (opinion).
Next stop for the FCC... summer slacktime.
The ball has been thrown into the court of corporate response(ibility) and as several have said, probably most organizations will not decide to mount an unfunded police action against pirates.
This was a fireworks display and there's nothing more to it.
Be that as it may, Tim is right... it is the right time for the ALPB to stand up and take a voice in defense of Part 15 hobbyists.
Artisan has announced his support of this, but might re-consider any need for haste... the next ALPB meeting in 2-weeks, minus the lost hour due to re-entry into Daylight Time, being plenty of time to consider a letter explaining to the FCC the importance of strongly protecting our privileged "minority group".
Divided we stand in unity.
I keep trying to respond to the Radio World website article referred to in post #1, but for some reason it is not allowing it to be published.
Bruce.
