Exact antenna wire length

3 meters or 118 inches

I figured as much. As I won't be getting the former boat antenna back up and running just yet, the intermediate plan is a semi-directional heavy gauge copper wire wrapped around the smallish window of my basement apartment. Other ideas?

Would that be a window sized loop antenna, Ken?

If you want to limit the antenna to your window space, to avoid running up the building's exterier wall, that's an interesting antenna limitation.

I'll enjoy hearing any suggestions that get made.
