I was headed toward a scientific point.
Actually, you rarely can prove anything in science (math yes, science no).
The scientific method is based on disproving various hypotheses until you end up with something that you believe is likely to be true (because you can't disprove it, at least right now).
Can't we all just pretend to get along?
I've always liked that feature about science, always open to interpretation and nothing is a certainty. Not even gravity!

You can say that again. I've had water fall sideways.
Ernie Kovacs, an early TV host/comedian, made water pour sideways also but he used a special set for that. In fact everything on the set rolled to the left as I recall. Here's a link to a YouTube of that sketch: The Tilted Table
