I am regretably changing the format of rock 95 again,
Our budget for this hobby station is to say the least, very limited at this time. So i am changing the format and playlists to accomadate music from unsigned bands or independent artists.
If anyone has any leads or ideas where i can get more music from these artists please dont hesitate to let me know.
I really dont want to pull the plug on this station but licensing fees for copyrighted music are out of my budget right now.
I have enjoyed re-broadcasting k107fm and The Mix Rock but they both play music that is licensed. I will be sending those stations a thanks by email soon though.
Any help on this would be apppreciated.

Much of the material there is under Creative Commons, but a lot of it is ok at least if you're noncommercial. I think some of it allows commercial use as well, but since my station has never been a business project, I don't notice.
It's still good where possible to get in touch with the artists and let them know how you found them and that you're playing it. That can get you new tracks that aren't up yet or even a band CD once in a while.
Also at least on archive.org sometimes there's a link back to a website which may be (or contain a link to) whole little indie companies with yet more music.
The challenge/work isn't so much finding music you can play. There's actually quite a lot of it out there. It's going through it and finding what's good/cool enough and figuring out how to make good playlists that your listeners will enjoy and keep listening to. That's a bit different than oh, a top-40 format where there's a lot of reliable songs/bands/genres that already have listener familiarity and promotional push behind them.
But if you really like new music and are up for that challenge, it can be great fun.
