I am new to part 15 and been doing a lot of research reading forums on part15 broadcasting. Out of all the advise on the use of call signs, this makes the most sense plus mram gave the fcc rule to back it up. Thanks part16.us community, keep writing and I'll keep reading. PAul Glory 1570 AM
Here is a fascinating read about the days when ships at sea had radio call signs similar to land broadcast stations.
KPH, KFS, and KSM were ship-board radio stations.
That stuff is great, Carl. As a boy,
I would fall asleep at night listening
to the wonderful Morse code from
those marine communications stations.
Mostly in the 4 MHz band.
I had an old 4 band portable radio and
a bfo that I rigged up. I remember WCC.
Also, later on in life, I was able to visit
WKM, near New Haven Connecticut.
Great Stuff.
