Oh, like App Ops.
WDCX suggests "Appliance Operator" as the modern replacement for the earlier term "disc jockey."
This could be contracted as "Applirator."
...we are "Radio Show Hosts"
Although when I'm doing the Oompah Hour, I'm a disc jockey plain and simple. Every song in the show is off records (99% 45's) and I record it LIVE in the studio to digital recorder as a live show. What happens as I do it live is what you get. Hence it maintains the personal imperfect touch of live radio, because it is.

Disc Jockeys Forever.
I am a disc jockey at heart. I truly adore 12", 10", 8", and whatever inch discs and don't they look good all neatly shelved across a whole wall?
There's no way to show off an mp3 library which requires no furniture.

ALPB
It takes an interesting personality to make it work. Maybe that's why I've heard them referred to as "air personalities."
All of my backups are done to S3 in amazon. However, a new company has surfaced that does online backups in an NSA-safe way. Your data is encrypted on your end, then stored as encrypted blocks on the the server. A lot of gobbity goop techno-babble, but you get a TB for 10/month and it is encrypted. http://bitcasa.com
For much less, but not NSA safe ๐ i love that term.. is http://backblaze.com
I've used both, backblaze is cheap, but bitcasa is easier to use (looks like another hard drive on your computer - works with linux, mac, windows, and mobile devices).
