Presumably everyone knows about Yahoo instant messaging, or IRC. Does anyone use this kind of thing for their station, or a bbs type system to keep in touch with listeners?

Try this out
I have experimented with Zello voip app on Android, it works rather well in a pinch.
Google Voice works very well too. You get a regular phone number in which you can forward to your cell phone or any type of phone. If you forward it to your cell phone they can actually text or call which is great. I use it on my rock line for my radio station.
Ah, Google Voice is practical. It's not like the others aren't good, but the Google is a good fit. Thanks.
There's some relevant topics in the past.. Which is why I revive some of these old threads when things get quiet like it seems it's been the last couple days (kinda feel like I've been talking go myself!)
But Centinel brought up a good question, and the free google phone is one very good option. Zeno's free plan is another, Skype, etc..
So, anyone considered this? Perhaps for only certain hours or whatever. It's a cool option for both terrestrial and/or online stations, but I dont know of many hobbyists who have offered a call in line
