Sorry to be a little off topic. But as I'm waiting to get my AMT3000 back from phil, I need something to keep me busy.
I'm looking into getting a HAM licence before I graduate. Might anyone be able to point me to a place to get study materials other than the ARRL website?

They are a good place to start. The book -
Now You're Talking!: All You Need to Get Your First Ham Radio License
can be picked up at Barnes and Nobles (where I got it) and other bookstores. That's all you need.
This is an excellent test tool - I practiced, practiced, practiced with it before taking (and passing) my test;

Hi,
You might also check out local amateur radio clubs. Many have classes and VEC's available to assist you in this. If there is a nearby amateur radio store, they will also be helpful.
It really is not as hard as it looks at first. You just need some help getting started.

Thanks, both of my parents are hams general class (WA1RRN and WA1RRK). I figured it might be fun and probably look good on a resume(along with and A+ cert and a degree)
I got alot of good ideas. Problem is, most of em suck.
