Hi Carl
The litz wire also has a covering over it that could make spaceing between each
turn of the coil made and I have used this wire above 2 mhz quite well.
Litz wire does make very high Q coils.
Thanks
Sean
Hey guys .
I just want to thank each and everyone of you for the learning I am getting here on Part 15.
I have been folling this post and all points of views here are valuble to me as I am learning.
As a Dj all I did was run the board and spin records and tell stories .
Now as a station owner I am trying to be more than just a washed up DJ .
I thank you all for this wonderful thread that is so powerful to learn from.

This website has been an absolute trade school for sharing ideas on the technical side of radio.
Back in the snow, underneath a ton of tree branches, I have ground set aside especially for an outdoor antenna with radials.
When it gets built it will feature an AMT500_EX, the one that comes with an outdoor enclosure.
After it is installed and running using the internal loading coil, we can talk about trying other configurations for comparison.
Since my somewhat inefficient Wintenna, antenna using a metal window frame, does so super well with the AMT5000, it will be very interesting to see the improvement with a really professional antenna.
