As in this old petition can we bind together to make a new petition to start an am docket to petition the FCC to allow for reasonable power and real change in the AM part 15 stations who show responsibility and show they can follow the rules and do the right thing for the right reasons for our communities.OLD petition to allow for AM low power stations to have better signals and better chance to serve done their communities don't agree with everthing this gent said but alot of it makes sense ..

A translator's power output is determine the same way as LPFM. For example our Low Power station operates at 86 watts. This is based on antenna height, elevation and other factors. But in the end it equates to 100 watts ERP. The same factors on translators equate to 250 watts ERP. So if you have a translator licensed at say 18 watts, there are other factors you are not taking into consideration.
