A translator's power output is determine the same way as LPFM. For example our Low Power station operates at 86 watts. This is based on antenna height, elevation and other factors. But in the end it equates to 100 watts ERP. The same factors on translators equate to 250 watts ERP. So if you have a translator licensed at say 18 watts, there are other factors you are not taking into consideration.
