I read somewhere in another forum topic that you are working on a home-brew TH ATU equivalent? Is this true? That would be great news, as these ATUs are unobtainium these days, or outrageously priced if one becomes available anywhere.

OK, that's great news! I was just confused because the blog says the antenna used was FCC-approved, so I thought it was the original factory ATU.
From what I can gather, he's using the original Talking House ATU and 25 feet of feedline (that's what is supplied with the ATU) along with a home brew antenna.
I won't disclose too much as he is the one I'm working with as a beta tester. If I can get past my Landlord I will put it outside and test. I may have to run the transmitter in the laundry room and open the door in the summer and stick the coax outside. Then run the transmitter inside and see how things go. The idea at first was to try and help me to be able to use AM. I live in an apartment where the Landlord is strict. She does not even know that I stuck the wire outside between and screen and window frame and had it tied to a tree. But there was a satellite dish we had and then removed it. They had a hole drilled and the barrel connector is a 75 ohn connector. I'll disconnect the old coax from that and then connect the antenna/atu. I hope to get that same 4.6 mile range and if I do I'll have everyone knowing about the station. I'll also need to get a security camera in case someone who hates part 15 tries to tear it apart. Plus after my Stepson's room mate put obscene stuff on my chat room under my name I'll be watching as he was kicked out of the house for defacing my chat room. He may try and tear apart my ATU/antenna if I put it outside so I'll try and rig a wireless WiFi cam to be sure no one messes with it.

On a side note, how do you know it wasn't a total stranger on the internet trolling your chat?
Not to get too far off topic but my Stepson Richard's room mate was talking about how he got 4 women pregnant. I said “I would not brag about that!” and while he complains about having to pay child support. Now the Progressive Album Rocker in me I don't sugar coat anything. I told him he should have wrapped it up and asked why he didn't get the last woman that we both knew pregnant. He said he wrapped it up. Long story short while I was in the hospital with my wife a message was typed in under Troy DjTroy ('ll have to edit it for obscene language) Should have not have went bareback my **** itches. I did not find that funny and plan to prosecute if I am able to still have to talk to the law office across the street on that one. But I do have some folks who listen to my station and believe in Jesus and probably would not think that was a bit funny especially coming from an Album Rock station. He also knows damn well The Legacy is 100% DEAD AGAINST RAP but used language like homeboy, and other ghetto language an Album Rocker would never be caught dead using. Again the reason my station is on air is to help break from that stuff. So now if you need to make a request on the station you have to Download TextMe for the Android which is FREE and text or call the RockLine which is posted on the web site. I turn off forwarding when I go to bed in case of trolls. Being my Wife has medical issues I can't babysit the chat room.
