We now have a domain name: thealpb.com
We now have a domain name: thealpb.com
Details are being worked out with Jon Paul regarding hosting the ALPB site which he has graciously offered to do.
Until the site has been developed and uploaded to Jon Paul's server, the domain name has been redirected to our initial "test page" hosted on Johny C's RAG-FM host.
Johny has implemented links and other mods providing a more functional "test page".
Tentatively the ALPB site will be split into three sections, each managed by one individual so as to spread out the work load and to maintain backup admins for the site.
A modest start but, we are on the way...
Excellent work everybody.
The website makes a very polished entrance into the web world.
Am looking forward to the gradual expansion of pages and services provided on the site.
Will put a link everywhere I can think of.
The ALPB webpage files have been uploaded to the new host by Johny C.
I have provided GoDaddy with the nameserver information to point "thealpb.com" to the new host.
Now, we have to wait for the updates to go into effect. Until then, "thealpb.com" is directed to a GoDaddy parking lot.
EDIT: Turkey Day and I'm still waiting...
Can't seem to find the site now.
Any info on whats up ?
Initially upon obtaining the domain name from GoDaddy, I setup "forwarding" as the webpage was already on Johny C's host. That is how the webpage was first served as "thealpb.com". The files were moved from Johny C's host to Jon Paul's host afterwhich I changed the nameservers at GoDaddy. Shortly after, the site should have been accessible.
Today I contacted GoDaddy to check on the nameserver updates. The nameservers of the new host replace the nameservers used by GoDaddy. This is how the domain name "thealpb.com" finds the host servers. This update was requested four days ago.
GoDaddy today informs me that my requested changes were implemented almost immediately. They advise that I need to check with my host supplier to see if there is a problem with the configuration on that end.
I forwarded GoDaddy's info to Jon Paul to have him check the host setup on that end. Once I have that info, either the problem will be corrected or I'll go back to GoDaddy with more questions.
More to come after Jon Paul has a chance to check on his end...
You're On!
A follow up from Jon Paul provided corrected nameserver info.
The corrected info was updated at GoDaddy.
Within 5 minutes our site THEALPB.COM was online.
Now, we need to go to work to develop the site. A great topic for the next ALPB Team Speak meeting coming up December 7, 2012 at 2300 GMT (6PM EST).
Very great event having the ALPB website turn on its lights.
Two proposals for consideration, perhaps for the next meeting agenda...
I would like to see a dedication line such as:
Founded by Lefty Gomez of Banana Belt Radio - Santa Cruz, California;
The ALPB is an Audio Forum of part15.us.
We now have two weeks for recruiting members.
If you join the ALPB you will receive a free subscription to The Low Power Hour.
I have started practicing my WebPage publishing. Please check out the WEBSITE to see what you think.
I will be adding the "CONTENT" page soon where members content links to programming they add will be found.
Details for the Public FTP will be sent to members when the page is ready to roll.
this is what I see ..
I tried to use my FTP Client to enter the server and it banned my IP.
Please unblock me LOL.

Beautiful work, MRAM, the pages and photos are very friendly and give the air that everyone is having a good time doing important radio business.
Everyone deserves a bonus milliWatt.
Lefty, I had the same thing happen while editing the webpages using DreamWeaver except that I could still access thealpb.com but not Part15.us.
A call to the friendly person at the toll free number listed on the "You're Blocked" page resolved the problem. I believe he stated the block resets automatically in 24 hours but don't quote me on that.
Carl, thanks for the kind words. It's a work in progress and I expect it will morph several times along the way. And yes, I'm trying to keep it upbeat and engaging.
I burned the late night oil and made some more additions.
There is now a "CONTENT" page with links to pages for three ALPB members. On their respective page are links to audio content.
Again, this is all subject to change as the site develops.
RadioBoy sent photos of his station.
As a result a new page has been added called THE BRAG PAGE where members are featured.
Send your info and pictures for your chance at the Brag Page.
Also, a local musicians group, The Summit Songwriter's Circle, has agreed to allow ALPB member stations to use their content. They now have a section linked on the CONTENT page.
Currently there are two tunes performed by Byron Walker. More to come as it becomes available.
The Brag Page is outstanding!
Radioboy's pictures are a perfect starting point, with his amazing radio trailer building.
I am so inspired I just thought of some slogans that I'll brag about right now...
High Power Radio Makes the World Smaller.
Low Power Radio Makes the World Larger.
Great idea Bob
