marosborne posted about me, "...This forum has gotten your message, over and over again. ...

But evidence is either that many such forum readers didn't understand it, or decided to ignore it and take their chances.

As I posted, the choices of the operators of unlicensed AM/FM systems are up to them, along with the FCC risks that may apply.

Such is their choice.

There is no evidence whatsoever that any of the members of part15(dot)us exceed the rules.

What Rich is lamenting is entirely in his imagination.

Sometimes madness can be self entertaining. Other times it gets very ugly.

We have discussed this during the ALPB meeting and I believe like I have said that Rich either is an NAB user that his job is to deter part 15 hobbyists from using their transmitters for any reason than to broadcast to themselves and not to try and entertain a neighborhood. Every opportunity given he sort of uses the NAB philosophy to deter part 15 FM especially and even AM. I don't have any concrete evidence other than the obvious postings. Yes the rules for FM keeps our transmitters at a very close range but keep in mind that it is still legally possible to transmit on FM further than 200 feet. Height is the key and the structure of your dwelling. But why stomp on manufacturers so hard? This is why at first I wanted to start an FM initiative but right now after Tim's findings we need to digest this info and try and come up with any possible way it wold work.

Carl made a good choice, he deleted his post about banning Mr.Fry.
Quote:

Excuse Me a Minute

"I removed the "ban him" statement because I thought it was not a judgement for one person to make."

Carl is right, banning Mr. Rich Fry from Part15.us is not a judgement for one to make but rather a decision made by more than 2 members or moderaters of this website.
This might sound familiar to Mr. Fry, the sound of a ban hammer coming down like a juges gavel.

Rich,
You have over stepped your bounderies time and time again and quite frankly members of this forum/website are fed up with your rule thumping. I have the feeling you are not capable of controlling yourself which is why we are having this discussion now.

Before I go much further, I would like to take this time to apolagize to other members of this website for hijacking this thread but i assure you this is not intended as a mulicios attack on the thread itself or members other than Mr. Fry. ( this is my right to offer my opinons on the subject so i am not speaking for everyone)

Now on to the meat and potatoes of the matter.
RICH, and Esteemed members of Part 15 .us I want to put fourth my request to have Rich removed from this website/forum for good. I am sure he cannot control himself and this matter will come up again as it has in the past ,unless we all get on the same page.

If you do not feel comfortable with voting a member off of this website then that is fine and i am sure everyone here will support your decision no matter which way you go. ( i really can't speak for you unless you ask me to and I will be an advocate for others)

As I said before and I have heard this through other channels as well, Rich has a history of being over the top when it comes to reciting the rules, posting his flow charts and equations to the point of being banned from other websites, communities and forums.

Every single complaint from those bans was the same as it is here, he has caused some of those members at other websites to refrain from posting their opinions or findings because they know Rich is going to be quick to fire off some of his anti-part15 mumbo jumbo.

It seems he has some kind of affliction, whether it is mental or some type of OCD he just cannot stop himself from posting his negative spin and he is quick at it too which leads me to believe he is online day and night just waiting to pounce on some unsuspecting forum member.
That type of behavior can drive new hobbyists away, put yourself in someones shoes who knows nothing about Part 15, now imagine you see all those negative posts about how soimeone is not following the rules or those overly technical post Rich makes with charts and graphs.

Why ,a newbie will take one look at that crap and say part 15 is just too hard, those equations are just too much trouble and that person may never want to try their hand at part 15 broadcasting missing out on a great hobby and the fellowship of the fine folks here that help each other out with a common goal, to be heard on the radio.

Again, I say we consider a way to vote Rich off of this website including some type of I.P. address blocking script in the server configuration files.

I am done with this nonsense.

Careful now, those other sites will start calling us a bunch of babbling babies.

We are losing control of our professionism.

I was recntly reviewing a facebook page earlier today where mention of an increase of 1 watt was proposed for AM Part 15, Some members here might be familiar with that petition. From what I have seen, it appears to have gone nowhere.

LoL I have a facebook friend named Joe Donalson who just loves posting his 500 watt 87.9 pirate radio station on sites like "I take pictures of transmitters sites" and he's never been shut down yet. It's kind of funny that those of us who try to comply sometimes get picked on though.

At any rate, I think we all need to keep this site on track, poeople who visit here,  might not stay if they think we're a bunch of children playing with our toys in a sand box and kicking sand in each other's faces.

Just my opinion, no insults intended.

Rock95seven I just seen your post above after I posted this and I can understand your anger  completely.

Bruce.

At the top of the Part 15 Website under "Navigate" the word CONTACT will send an e-mail to the webmaster for the site.

By using the CONTACT button anyone may lodge an opinion or a recommendation.

If there is a vote, I suggest using the CONTACT method to avoid a public spectacle.

It is more than "over the top" for the man to begin by impuning not just one, but a batch of Part 15 manufacturers and vendors, then all at once make a sweeping claim that a bunch of us are ignoring the rules and broadcasting illegally. Believe me, it is an attack on the Part 15 hobby, and we don't know if the assault is coming from a derranged individual or on behalf of some agency, like MrBruce says, "the NAB" or other entity.

You would have to be sure he has a static IP and if you ban the subnet as well you could possebly ban legit users too.  I guess you'll have to ban one at a time for him in that case.  If you see a bunch in the same city at least you know where he is.  I think you'll find it interesting when you find his location.  You can use en.utrace.de or ipdatabase.com to locate the city, ISP of an IP address.  Pretty good stuff.

I have left the decision to kick/ban Rich up to the owners/moderators of this website.

As for what kind of message this sends to other websites, don't you think they have thought of doing the same thing? Maybe they will see past the petty name calling and look at the whole picture instead.

After all, nobody likes a troll no matter what website they frequent.
We can't ask Rich to change because that has already been proven impossible.

Rich is entitled to his opinions, much as everyone else here.  If you don't like what he's writing, then don't read them or respond to them.

There are very few rules here, the most prominent being no personal attacks.  Unfortunately, a number of posts in this thread are awfully close to the edge on that front.

While I personally can find the repetitiveness (if that's a word) of Rich's posts on, say, ground leads, annoying at times, that is more than offset with the good information that he brings to the table in other areas.

It's good to think about "who is the boss". It's just words, and though words cause emotions, you can take control.

One way to look at it is being at the mic at your own station, you're essentially the King. What do you do if a combative "tough" guest comes on to your airwaves? No matter what, you have to maintain the direction of your show, be unflappable, that's the ideal at least.

Point well taken Nate Crime, I kind of like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Art yours is well taken as well.

Can't we all just get along and play nice?

My point of bringing up Joe's 500 watt station was supposed to be an ice breaker, a change of subject more or less.

Bruce.
