First of all, I'm sure a lot of you guys
have heard this already but here it is
anyway.

I heard through the grapevine that the
Promethius Radio Project (An LPFM Lobbying
Group,) is proposing to allow some new LPFMs on
87.5, 87.7, and 87.9 MHz.

I believe it is a pretty complicated proposal
involving other interest groups.

That's all I know.

Best Wishes,
Bruce, MICRO1690/1700

P.S. If this is redundant, you guys can just
strike it from the record.

MICRO1700 many thanks for posting this, as I had not heard this particular story. It seems like the right time, given all the spectrum changes we've heard about, for this particular proposal to have a strong chance.

It's funny. There seem to be at least
four different ideas floating around.

1) (Oh boy, this is fun) There are the
people who want to put a whole new
gigantic AM band (digital??) in TV channels
five and six for broadcasting.

2) There are the licensed wireless mikes
and auxiliary stations on the TV channels.

3) There are the new FCC regs about the
"intelligent interactive devices" that detect
other signals and work around them. I think
you mentioned that one yesterday. Those
are for point to point operation.

4) And now Promethius is talking about 87.5
87.7 and 87.9 for LPFM.

Regardless of how this effects us, (or even if it
doesn't) it will be fun to watch.

Best Wishes,
Bruce, MICRO1690/1700
