Wonder how 49MHz Part 15 would do with a Toroid Tuning Network like the hamilton has. Since 49MHz is under the Same Basic Rules as MW AM, It would Probably Benefit From a Super Effecient Final RF Section.
I would say that this setup over a 1/4 wave GP would make an excelent Beacon Station or to try and DX one another. 49MHz has the same properties as 6 meters and the allowances are liberal for QRP DX comms.

and while it's good to be compliant with the regs for all bands, baby monitors and cordless phones have pretty much abandoned that freq, all that's left are kids toy walkie talkies, as far as know. If you were to do some experimenting there and slipped a bit, who's to complain?
Not much on the pre-emphasis which would be needed for music, but an interesting low cost stl possibility too.
