My experiences with a modulated colpitts oscillator.
VCC=15v
BIASING RESISTORS = 2 x 33k
EMITTER RESISTOR = 330 OHM
FEEDBACK CAP = 100P
CRYSTAL = 7.2MHZ

whole oscillator is modulated by a LM386 chip.I used an RFC and a 100n capacitor to ground at the output of 386 to block out the RF.
MOD DEPTH 50% , SOUNDS NICE ๐ WORKS GREAT.Crystal makes it highly stable.
Try series modulation,closer to 100% with great fidelity. See also threads for the Wenzel transmitter,I built one for 13.560 part15 shortwave. It works very well. Regards,Lee
