I previously posted about a BETS-8 transmitter available on e-bay.
It turns out that there are a lot of BETS specifications that I wasn't aware of (or, at least, I don't remember, which is sadly getting more and more true). Of course, BETS-1 applies to micro power, unlicensed broadcasting (i.e., us in Canada). BETS-5 is regular AM broadcasting. BETS-6 is regular FM broadcasting.
So, BETS-7 is for TV broadcast receivers. BETS-9 covers low power TV broadcast transmitters in small, remote areas (similar to what BETS-8 is for radio). BETS-4 is for all the other TV broadcast transmitters. BETS-3 is for Master Antenna Television (MATV) systems, which distribute TV and FM signals to individual receivers within a building. BETS-2 is outdated, no longer used, for AM broadcasting.
