Dave Schmarder is one great radio guy!
His work is craftsmanship to be enjoyed.
Oh my goodness, look at his wonderful loops! They are absolute magic!
Does Mr. Schmarder know about part 15 transmitting? Can you imagine what he might do if you contact him and give him a quick education?
M. Bla, I like the way you think. Where you ever in the United States Navy?
So, the way I think might mean Navy?
According to my papers I was in the National Guard but all the training was with the Army so I can say I was in both?
Here is a link to an interesting loop antenna - helically wound to get a 6 foot diameter loop to cover the 80 meter band (3.5-4 Mhz). I imagine that you can increase the diameter to get down to the 160 meter band or below, but you might have to go past 10 feet (or increase the length of the helical wrap). Then there's the issue of whether it would be legal even at 10 feet.
