This was a really well done and interesting video. Also entertaining. I didn't skip through it at all although it took 15 minutes before coming to the part that actually had drew me to watch it the first place. It covers a lot of aspect about AM and how its different from FM, and several other interesting points and demonstrations, and it clued me in the the Ground News website which I had never heard of before but will be checking it out. I'm haven't watched any of his other videos yet, but did subscribe to check them out later.

@ Rich-Powers  I got caught up by watching that video, and wonder if the nearby radio towers could provide all the power needed to run KDX (?)

Are electro-static loudspeakers related to any of this?

Can you hear radio programs in your teeth fillings?

You know this reminds me of some conversation we had at some point, where I showed you some illustrated plans from an 1930s or 40s magazine of this crystal radio that used numerous antennas at once to improve performance. I said something about how incredible it was crystal radios were powered solely from the radio waves.

You replied something about it amounting to theft of services.

Though you were joking, it got me thinking. Part 15 AM signal is putting out such a minuscule power... Wouldn't that conclude that if you have to many listeners at once, it would absorb all the signal strength, thus use up all the power, causing your range to greatly decrease.

This would explain something we've all experienced at some point.. why on some days or signals seem to travel farther on some days and less on others.

It's the listeners. You'll get the best range when no one is listening to it.
