Does anyone here use Play It Live broadcast program and if so when you go into settings to change time format, fade and silence detect, display light or dark etc, how do you apply settings? When exiting it just reverts to default. Thinking of switching from Zara. No box for applying settings. Free version.

Thanks.

Solved my problem. The page was not displaying fully and zoomed out a bit and saw the OK and apply boxes. I could change the screen resolution also.

I'm really liking play it and it seems better than Zara in detecting silence so tracks play gapless and the silence at the beginning and end of tracks is eliminated and with the 1 or 2 second overlap sounds very "professional" Zara didn't skip the silence that good
This program also to my surprise keeps a log of what played and the times it played. Tracks are automatically shuffled on playback. Liking it so far!

Just in case I ever have to use this temporarily while I wait for Winston to reset my key whenever my computer goes bad and I have to switch to another machine I'd like to know the following about Play It Live?

Does the software also log the Album the song is played off of?  This way I can announce the album the songs are off of just lke NextKas logs the album as well as artist and title.

I also assume you have to use a separate encoder for this to work because it does not have a built in encoder for Icecast V2 or Shoutcast?

Mic button is this included in the software or do you need an encoder with a mic on the encoder?

Just something to wonder about should I havve to use it for temp one day.

@ thelegacy,

I'm new to this myself and it has only been working for a day and a half. I am only using this automated. Your playlist  displays on the right upper section and what was played displays on the main window. Times and dates and days. The song, title and any other info like from what album, from what I have seen will display if info is with the track. I don't know about encoding but that or anything else like a server is not needed for this to work. It's like Zara in this regard. It uses your computer for audio from the computer sound card and gets the time and dates from the computer also so you still need an external EQ if you want and a compressor. I have the free version but there are 2 pay versions that would of course do more but for me most likely not anything that would matter or I would use. It can be operated manually too. As for a mic for live I haven't used as I do only automated but yes I'm sure it does all of that. But I don't know how.

It is excellent at eliminating the silence at the beginning and end of a track for smooth seemless track to track playback and a little overlap like 1 or 1.5 seconds is all that's needed for professional sounding station.

I have to say the customer service is very good as I already got an email from play it software with a 5 question servey about how I like it and what's good and bad and if I have any problems or questions a tech rep will contact me for personal support.

Easy to install set up can be backed up and put on any computer like Zara from a usb drive and for use no internet connection is needed.

This is still in the trial stage for me but if good I will forget about Zara.
I tried to use RadioDJ but it needs a server to work that needs to be downloaded also and could not get it to work and just got error messages.....can't do this that.....this needs this.....to much for me to bother with.

I don't know about Icecast or Shoutcast.

Play it update...

Liking this a lot. Working fine and seems to be a good replacement for Zara. Silence detector is great and songs and jingles move along with no gaps. Keeps a log and it's easy to go back and see what played yesterday at 2:03 for example. I don't know how far back the log keeps but I will contact support to find out.

Been working without a hitch and so far highly recommended.
