There are several incomplete databases listing information about individual part 15 radio stations, all with limitations.

The most colorful part 15 station list is the famous Map of Part 15 Stations still maintained by The Crow, although once included on the map stations remain forever even when they go out of existence because no review process would be manageable.

So far as I see this website, Part15.org, has no station list and little can be learned by viewing the member list.

A few other part 15 related websites have small databases, mainly dedicated to their own membership.

The KDX website holds two databases, both outdated and no longer maintained... many of the stations no longer operate.

We often run across part 15 stations that do not turn up in any of the known databases.

Customer lists from transmitter manufacturers and distributors would provide a profile of how many active part 15 projects take a start, but such lists are proprietary.

The FCC Part 15 Rules authorizing these stations categorize them along with "permitted interference levels" and otherwise has no interest in knowing about who's doing it.

If you want to update the database or create one please note C-Quam AM Stereo 1640 The Legacy in Deltaville, VA is one.  And our Genre is Album Rock.  We are not using 1700 due to the fact that many C-Quam Radio's only go up to 1640 Khz.

Making a Note

I'm estimating that Mighty 1650, once known as The Crow, will fulfill your request on his next visit to part15.org putting your C-QUAM on the Part 15 Map.

The reason I have two databases is this:

On my computer's "home page" I made a table of all known part 15 stations that have websites so I could easily select them, but many of those websites are gone. That database was never made public, although it could be.

My other database consists of likenesses of the AM, FM and Shortwave Dials with part 15 stations described on their resident frequencys, this database is located in my Hobby Radio Super Center but walled off during my Silent Protest until September 22.

I'll jot down TheLegacy's new info so it will be seen when the information goes back online.

Updated the map for Legacy, I saw he was actually already on the map but at his old 1700 frequency.

I mark part 15 stations as [DEFUNCT] when they sign off to maintain a record of their existence but I only know if I'm told or happen to run a search on it.

Two for one deal:

  • 1080 - WRTM, the Radio Technology museum. Genre is big band / swing music. Looped MP3 player. TX is homebrew
  • 980 - CDL, the Computer Deconstruction Laboratory. Genre is, well, everything + podcast audio. Rivendell automation + live shows with calls in. TX is a Procaster and a Cuthbert C-QUAM kit.

Both are located in Wall, NJ

"We are not using 1700 due to the fact that many C-Quam Radio’s only go up to 1640 Khz." TheLegacy

Why is that?
