Gentlemen:
Need some information on how to change my logo when I post. I went into “members” and changed my picture there, it comes up each and every time I check my “profile” but when I make my posts it still shows the old “RADIO JOE” in red, logo... not sure what if I need to do something to make it show up on my posts or not.. Like I said it all looks changed (picture) when I check my profile.
Any help you can offer will be appreciated.
Radio Joe
Glad you brought this up!!!
I had the same thing a while ago, did it as indicated in my profile and it accepted there but then was still the same as before on the icon that appears with my posts.
Contacted admin and he did it for me and said if it doesn't work again let me know.
This site has some problems....like this one, trying to post a picture, a long response time loading pages, and sometimes access denied and have to fill out a forum and answer a question to get a post, and the part 15 logo bar sometimes moves down the page to cover content.
..and answer a question to get a post, and the part 15 logo bar sometimes moves down the page to cover content.
Ha!.. I thought it was doing that to load a banner ad which just didn't load! (I really did)
I don't know squat about forum software, but would it be feasible to have two forums on the same server?.. without incurring additional cost? I mean activate a brand new furum, and leave this one intact, but dormant, still searchable and able to browse, and then connect the separate forums with nothing more than regular links.
Then there'd still be the past content and we'd have a fresh, clean, fast, problem free, forum... for awhile anyway.
If something like that's possible. There are some serious problems.
Uploading pictures to one's profile is a problem. The Admin did ask me to send him a picture if I had issues but my new issue is I can find no way to attach a file to send to Admin.
I guess when I did it, admin looked at my profile as it changed there, and did it at his end.
You problem of uploading a file is the same problem I've had trying to get a picture posted on here....or so it seems from what you are saying.
Some info for Rich Powers and anyone else who is interested. When the Part15.us site was hacked the moderators and administrator lost control of the site and the only option was to take it down. The site owner and administrator decided the best action was to build a new site rather than to repair and continue using the old software which had known security weakness.
He was able to transfer member names to the new site but not passwords which is why even registered users had to select a new password.
The content from the previous site was transferred to a sub forum called "temp" and if you open this sub forum you gain access to previous posts and threads. Unfortunately, photos and other attachments appear to have been lost. The admin and moderators spent quite a bit of time categorizing and copying threads from the temp file into the other sub-forums but since there are thousands of such entries complete restoration is not feasible. Just a few hundred items were transferred.
Since we have many non US members, the name of the site was changed to Part15.org.
Apparently there are some bugs with the new system and the only advice I can offer is let the administrator know so he can address this.

Hello all! Sorry for any difficulties you are having! I hear that there are two or three issues right now
1) long post 'disappearing' after submitting.
2) not being able to upload profile images
3) profile images not showing after uploading.
4) long time to submit post
I am still working on issue #2, it is a bit quirky, but I encourage anyone / everyone to email me your profile image and I will upload it for you. You can reach me at [email protected]
I think #1 and #3 are related and are potentially caused by caching on the site. I cleared the cache recently so am hoping that fixes issue #3 (@radiojoe can you tell me if your proper profile image is showing now or not?)
If it continues to be a problem I will try using a different caching tool (caching is used to speed up the site)
I am also investigating #4 - this site runs on a pretty decent server so shouldn't take long to submit posts. I would appreciate it if one of you could email me some information the next time this happens so I can dig around in the logs. Send me the time you submitted the post (and time zone you are in) and the title of the post and maybe your IP address (go to the website http://whatismyipaddress.com)
Thanks for your patience!
Jon Paul
I may have found the problem with long posts disappearing (and hopefully fixed it). For those that want to know, I found a cryptic setting in the forum software that disabled editing a post after a few minutes. I think that what was happening was that you guys were writing such amazing replies and topics and taking care with them that you were going over this time limit. Not sure why you would have this setting, but it was there. In any even I set the time limit to 99999999 minutes which is about 190 years. So you should be able to edit your posts for a long while 🙂
Please let me know if the problem keeps happening, but I am hoping that was all it was. Sorry everyone! (and now to work on the other issues!)

Thanks, appreciate it. Nice to know that if I live to 190 I can still edit a post!
This is Great
I'll get busy on some super long posts!
