OK, what's up?
I've attempted to post Santa reports to the content/media section. Both "awaiting moderation". The one from last week has been waiting a week. It did contain a very slightly naughty word. I reposted the information moments ago completely sterile, and it too is "awaiting moderation".
This sort of added frustration is about to entice me to abandon the site completely. There are very very few posts anymore. What do we have, about 6 active people now? I respond to a post every now and then and I've been posting the Oompah Hour show info every week for nearly 5 years now. Maybe everything has been said and discussed and there's nothing new?
Apparently there is no moderating? So my post "awaiting moderation" will just sit there forever? Not that it really matters. I was trying to share some Christmas programming, free, for those interested.
And where is the ALPB? The links from here to there bring me to a site that says the domain expired nearly a month ago.
Maybe everyone is too busy running their stations. Or most have packed it in and moved on to something else?
There really is no active Part 15 forum any more -- I was looking for the ALPB forums but can't even find the website any more. And this site, besides being slow, has very little activity. I haven't been to the HB site for ages so maybe there's some activity among the anointed there.

Hi Tim, my apologies for the delay in approving the posts, I was overseas for a week or so and have taken a long time to get back to moderating. I will try to do better going forward. Yes, we need new moderators for the site, let me know if you have any recommendations or a desire to take it on yourself, any assistance is most welcome.

Now my post is awaiting moderation.. Never seen that happen before.
Is it the links? I provide the new links to the ALPB and to the new forum, in this thread immediately before making this post.
I'll try it like this
The ALPB is temporarily at heartandhoof[dot]com/thealpb/ , and the forum is at mbcf [dot]boards[dot]net (it was renamed to "Micro Broadcasters Community Forum")
Hi Tim,
As for The ALPB, the problem is that Chairman Jim Henry passed away. I had transferred the domain ownership to Jim just a few months before he passed. That left the domain ownership in limbo.
I contacted GoDaddy (domain registrar) and explained the situation and that I was the previous owner. They would not simply transfer the domain name back to my GoDaddy account. I had to purchase a "backorder" for the domain name and wait for it to expire. Then I have to hope no one wants to bid on it. So I'm waiting for the process to finish up to see if I can secure the domain name.
In the meantime, I have setup The ALPB site at http://thealpb.from-ak.com on my personal web page server.
I am still faithfully updating The Oompah Hour links on your ALPB Content page.
I do appreciate greatly your production of not only the Oompah Hour but also your Headlines news piece which airs on our City's LPFM station every other hour, 24/7.
And, I also greatly appreciate the support which Part15.org has provided The ALPB in the way of space on their servers to host The ALPB website.
If you or anyone have any questions about any of this please contact me direct.
Thanks
P.S.
Regarding The ALPB forum, the forum developed into it's own entity.
When The ALPB group experienced a "blow out" shortly after Jim passed, things went down hill quickly.
There was little support for the original concept of The ALPB. Rather it had morphed into the forum with its own dynamics.
As the originator of The ALPB, and with no apparent membership support, I made the decision to separate the "forum" from The ALPB and try to recapture the original intent of The ALPB.
The forum had it's own life and continues much as it was, only with a new identity decided upon by those forum members who cared enough to help rename it.
The forum is now The Micro Broadcasters Forum (MBCF.boards.net) and carries on as always.
Problem is so many members register and never participate yet the member list is quite large.
Also as mentioned everything gets talked about and it's hard to think of new things to start a thread about but I contribute as much as I can on this and MBCF.boards.net(microbroadcasters forum) but I admit I respond to posts more rather than starting my own. Even members like my fellow Canadian Artisan has disappeared. I asked where he was and got nothing.
As for the not so popular HB site I am not a member there because of the email thing but I look from time to time and yes there there's ongoing posts and discussion much more than here. I guess I could get a second email with my provider and try to join there also but have not tried that yet. I think there you have to contribute a certain amount to stay a member rightly or wrongly. In the "read this first" it says contribute very clearly.
I also could look into being a moderator but would have a hard time making judgment calls as to what goes or not. If you are looking for moderators maybe you could tell me if there's more to it than just making sure posts fit guidelines and form rules and if in doubt or gray area what do you do. I could sleep on it. It's hard to do this when the members are also my friends in the hobby.
Getting back to contributing lots of threads are something that I don't know anything about or can't really offer anything and since I am in Canada and not on AM as most are here and a lot of discussion I can't really say much and again lots of stuff has been talked about to keep thinking of something new.
I've never heard of a post awaiting moderation as when I post anything I click on submit and it's there right away. Are posts here checked before they appear on the forum? Or moderated after the fact once they appear?
Wouldn't want to see these forums disappear.
I have several things keeping me away from here, and these things are all problems that are external to the site.
Last spring I had to tear down my radio set-up so one of my kids could move back into that room And I was glad to do it.. I don't even have a good place to type now
I have been AM BCB DXing out in the back yard and while walking to the convenience store

Hi Mark, regarding posts needing to be moderated, it is only for new members and after a while they don't have to be moderated to be published. It is part of the anti-spam protocol we have!
The ALPBS current address is http://thealpb.from-ak.com/ but I think that's tempore.
The ALPB forums changed to http://mbcf.boards.net/ some time back (the name changed to "Micro Broadcasters Community Forum"
