Well I've been very busy lately. In the finals week at college, and got two new promotions.
I'm now program manager for Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-fm.
I also have an internship at WMGM, a 50kW blowtorch from Atlantic CIty, NJ on 103.7. I'll be helping out doing production, board-op'ing, voicing commericials, engineering live events.
I've got a lot on my plate, so apologies if trying to get in touch with me is hard.
Very Proud of you!!
You have a great career ahead of you and you are well on your way. I see you making a big difference in Radio in the years to come. Stay focused and don't let anything else destroy all the good work you have done. Many wish they were in your shoes as far as Radio goes.
I have also just gotten word that WMGK 102.9 from Philly wants me to meet and spend the day with their host Andre. They're really pushing for me to intern with them too. Lots of board-op work and production. They're in the top three stations in philly.
And Troy, thanks so much for the kind words! I appreeciate all the work you do and the help I've received from all of you here.
Yea dude keep it up. I've said you'll go far and I am sure my predictions will come true.
Wishing you all the best of luck on your radio career.
Board-Op and Production were my favorite jobs, dj'ing a radio show was a lot lower on the list.
CONGRATS on the promotions and the internship!!!
Many moons ago WMGM was in NYC @ 1050....owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer, of course!!
Then it became WHN......
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors!!!:)
You are missing the adventure at the ALPB where we nearly shut down when Chairman Bob Felmly challenged us to survive when he decided to end his 5-years of leadership and development of the organization.
Artisan Radio took over as Interim Chairman and guided us through an election period as we chose a new permanent Admin... but who could it be?
The only way you can find out is to log in at the ALPB and see how much has changed.
By the way, your proposal to obtain airtime on WBCQ and promote low power radio to a worldwide shortwave audience was very well received, but you never came back to follow-through with the idea.
To put it in other words, you are a master salesman, but you were not there for the closing!
What is happening to WHAR while you are conquering the full-power world?
I predict that at this point in the thread you are already gone and will never see this post.
Wow, I wonder why Bob left! I've been busy like I said, but yes WHAR is still chugging along, adding new music to the playlist weekly. I'll try and make it to the meeting tonight to get a catch up and see what's going on here.
As you can tell, my time here at the ALPB might be soon wrapping up, only because especially once these internships start, and being program director at Rowan Radio, I'll have next to no time left for anything else. I don't want that to happen though!
Great to hear you are building a career in radio. Your enthusium and passion for this will carry you far. My wish for you is that you never lose your love for the profession.
Neil
