The Estonian minimalist composer Arvo Part wrote this brief work in memory at the death of beloved British composer Benjamin Britten:
Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten
@carl-blare Listened to most but not all of the one called Cantus with the orchestra and the last part was interesting. Basically 1 chord but constant adding and changing of notes creating many variations sounded nice.
Rumble...Beautifully simple. The tremolo at the last part was the only flaw. The original garage rocker. Surprising I don't have that on my playlist, I can't have everything. My playlist is large enough. Anything I'd add now would rarely be heard. I think at the time anyone that picked up an electric guitar that song would be the first thing that would be played. I was 9 or 10 when that was on the CHUM chart here in Toronto 1958.
Touring the Memory Trail.
In the school days I stopped to listen everytime the local AM top 40 station played
