And we need it these days.
The Carl Blare owned domain registration for KDXRadio.com was due to expire last weekend. I've kept a close eye on it, and lo and behold, it has been renewed for another year. I guess it could have been some sort of automated payment thing, but you'd think all those payments would be shut down, if, as has been speculated, Carl is no longer be with us.
So it appears that, even though he's not here, he's somewhere out there.
It could be an automatic renewal and has a valid card on file. The automatic payments will go on unless the card expires, cancelled, or becomes invalid like maxed out. Doesn't matter if the card is not paid each month the amount just keeps going up and up and up!
Well, as I said before, you'd think these methods of payment would be cancelled if he was no longer around. And usually, the renewals occur well ahead of expiration date. This renewal didn't show up until just before the expiration date, indicating manual intervention.
Yeah, I realize that it could be nothing. But I'd prefer to take a positive outlook and assume that Carl is still kicking around somewhere, just not here.
I've had a renewing subscription for some Adobe products that I had been paying regularly for several years after I had quit using the softwares before I finally l realized it one day and canceled it. There's nothing particularly out of the ordinary when the deceased continuing to make their regular payments. - Seems such stories surface semi-regular.

I don't know why you say that. I've never known of any automatic renewable subscriptions to occur prior to the expiration date. In fact I doubt it's even legal.
Over lack of obituary I've pondered that maybe he hasn't died but perhaps had a stroke or something that incapacitated him and he's been in hospice ever since.
All just wild speculations, but behind it all I just know he's gone. And it's with deep regrets, but I dont think we'll ever hear from him again. Unless hes able to communicate across realms.
I'd be widely excited to be proved wrong. I hope your right @Artisian, but I dont think his recent domain renewal is particularly significant enough to be considered "good news".
I could die tomorrow, the Amazon Prime renewals would go on. Youtube Premium would just get billed each month, the AVG would renew at the end of the year. They have the card on file. Doesn't matter if I am alive or dead. If the card is good and I don't expressly cancel it the card will be debited till it is no longer good.
And if no payment the owing amount just like I said....goes up and up! Along with other things on the card.
No automatic renewals have ever gone up till the day after the expiry day and I get a notice that I just sent money from Paypal which has the card with premium youtube and Amazon Prime and AVG I get a notice my card has been billed. I don't even remember the expiry dates. I don't know why I have the pay version of AVG though. The other free ones give me the protection that AVG charges for.
Point, this doesn't really indicate what is or isn't with Carl.
All I know is that domain registrars bill in advance for renewals. You don't have to pay until the last day, but if you're set up for automatic payment, it comes out well before the domain expiration date. I have several domains, so I go through this every year. If a payment is made at the last minute, that usually indicates manual intervention.
And yes, if a card is good, payment will be successful. That's why family members go through and cancel them if something happens to the cardholder.
Maybe I'm deluding myself, but I hope I'm right. Carl threatened multiple times to get out of Part 15 radio, and move to something a little less stressful such as model railroading. He even followed through several times, but always came back. I'd like to think that he finally made the big break (but is still leaving his options open for the future by renewing his domain).
And even if Carl never does return, he's left his radio legacy behind him here and elsewhere.
Not that its significant, but amongst his very last post here was a gripe about his internet service provider and thoughts of discontinuing his website, but keeping his stream
