No need to go off the air when lightning comes with this. This also doesn't compromise itself as it uses TVS diodes for the surge protection. Included is a demo of it working in a test lab with a simulated direct lightning strike. Also shuts off if line voltage A/C goes above 130 volts.

I'm a little confused, didn't you have all that already covered using your portable power station?
The power station is just for a UPS. Doesn't have all the other protection. I wonder why I even got it as the power may go off here for a couple of hours a year in total.
Well, a little power station that light and easy to carry around can definitely come in handy for a number of uses even if the power never goes out. It's just a handy thing to have.
I wonder what kind of damage a power surge would do to a power station while its plugged in the AC, considering the fact that when being charged by solar panels the input normally tends to vary considerably anyway.
Also, when being charged by AC, isn't the only thing that might get damage by a surge be the wall wart? Wouldn't it blow out the wall wart before it ever reached the power station itself?
