Up to date versions of Windows contain 'Microsoft Defender' an anti-virus program.
Is there any reason to run an available anti-virus program other than that? For example, AVG or Avast.
Years back I seem to remember that I removed an antivirus program because I thought it was interfering with my streaming activity, but my memory is hazy.
I wonder the same thing. If Windows has this why do you have to duplicate it with another?
I have AVG and it notifies me if it zapped something and does a computer scan every once in a while and finds nothing. But is it necessary? Why does a new computer come with 90 days, or whatever, free of anti virus by third party company? Usually McAfee.
the short answe in no. windows defender in reviews does very well.
Somewhere in the security descriptions of Windows it says that if an outside security program such as AVG is used then Windows Defender should be turned off otherwise they might conflict. I have become convinced that Windows Defender is a trustworthy solution to antivirus protection, in agreement with Artisan Radio.
I agree also as you are just doubling up on two things doing the same thing. A waste of space.
