It was only a matter of time, now big brother is getting behind the wheel with you to make sure you obey the speed limits by installing Speed limiter devices in your car..
"...Reckless driving is a leading cause of traffic deaths across the country. In response, several states are moving forward with new laws to limit how fast people can drive — not just through penalties, but with actual technology. Speed limiter devices are becoming part of the conversation around road safety. These tools can cap a vehicle’s top speed using GPS and other systems, reducing the chances of serious crashes...."
Already mandatory for all new cars in Europe, and now in the U.S., Virginia in the first to make it a state law with others expected to follow. - Maybe they ought to make one to force others to speed up for those who drive slow in the fast lane. Wouldnt be surprised if next they start putting similiar gps devices on humans out on the town to make sure their blood alcohol content doesn't exceed a certain limit when they're in the bars.
I rarely even drive anymore but I tell you what, I would really be pissed off to have the government taking control of my car in real time.

They don't have to use GPS and have the government in your car. They just have to do it with the cars computer so if you go, or try to go more than a certain speed it would work like cruise control and wouldn't let you. It's not mandatory here but some delivery trucks have had this for a long time. It says on the back this vehicle limited to 100km/hr(60mph)
But if one or a few states are doing this how can the car manufacturers make a special car for just a few of 50 states?!
But tell me, why is it necessary for a car to be able to go 120mph(190km/hr), or more? Or have 500 horsepower? Or go from 0 to 60mph in 4 seconds? Never understood this addiction to the need for speed.
They can also set up speed cameras or photo radar as it really is and enforce the law rather than mandating it installed in cars.
