OK, I'm going to make these available FREE to anyone who might want to air them....
Many years ago -- probaby over 30 years ago -- I created some "North Pole Reports" that I used on my morning radio show. I played the role of "Eric Sleighride" (a take off of Eric Severeid -- for those of you old enough to remember him) where I was at Santa's compound at the North Pole, and was interviewing members of Santa's staff. I wrote and produced them and members of the staff at the station I was working at all played the roles of the other characters. There are 12 reports, they're all about 2 minutes long, give or take. Each report is in two parts "We're here at the North Pole talking with ... and we'll be back right after this" and then "We're talking with....." this was to facilitate putting in a sponsor within the program (believe it or not, we ran these for several years, sometimes twice a day -- morning and afternoon drive time with sponsors!). I'd be glad to share these with anyone who might like to utilize them completely free of charge, etc.
If there's any interest, let me know either here on this forum or email me at [email protected] If anyone wants to use them I'll get them into mp3 form and post them someplace for download, they're on reel to reel tapes right now! There are 24 pieces of audio, 12 reports total.
Oh, some of the characters invertiewed are: Footsie Locker and Roundie Ball --the exercise coordinators who keep the reindeer in shape. Tommy Runner - in charge of sleigh maintenance, Chuck Hollybough - director of operations, Dandy Decimal - toy inventory manager, etc. Obviously geared for kids!

Hi Tim I think that would be a great idea for people to cast, i would like a copy. Thanks. jeff
Alrightee gang, I've dubbed my 30 year old North Pole Reports off the old reel to reel tape and made them into one big long mp3. Offered up for free for anyone who would like to utilize them in their holiday programming (Part 15 that is, don't be playing these on a commercial station and selling big dollar sponsors without cutting me a check LOL) Some things you should know.
There are 12 reports, each has two parts -- a short intro and then the report.
They're pretty short. I was shooting around 90 seconds total with a place for a 30 second ad, so I could get 'em on the air in a two minute window (I didn't always make it).
The first report had a bad spot in the tape after the spot break, so it jumps back in a few seconds late. Oh well.
There is radio static, station tuning sounds, gymnasium effects, wind effects, etc added in as necessary. Do not be alarmed.
It's all one big long mp3, as I don't have the patience to cut it up into several ones and it's a bear for me to upload all those parts and make sense out of it. Back in the day when we ran it on the air, I just cued up the reel to reel, played the intro, went to the spot on a cart, and then cued up the report and went back to the reel. Ah the good ol' days of live radio!
The cast includes my as your reporter Eric Sleighride. Various members of the cast include staff from KEYZ/KYYZ radio in Williston, ND 30 years ago. These include (as best as I can remember) Newsman Rich Collins, FM Program Director Barry Arnold, AM Program Director Country "Cousin" Earl, Night announcer Stan Sloat, Five Time North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year Lee Halvorson, Sports guy Dan Keating, Secretary Susie Boomersbach (really) FM announcer Jan Lee, and myself as a couple other character roles trying to disguise my voice.
I wrote and produced these waaay back then -- before internet, before digital recording, on Revox A-77 reel to reel machines and utilizing Gates cart machines (come of you know those I bet), and turntables, all in full track mono!
Since I was using these in my own morning show back then I could do the whole set up -- how we'd be going live later to Eric Sleighride at Santa's Workshop, via special short wave radio hookup. I'd play it up big, conditions were poor, didn't know if we could reach him, etc... They always managed to sell sponsors!
Here ya go, it's all at:

It's just shy of 20 megabytes. Hopefully some of you find it amusing at least!

Solution: Just don't re-arrange the letters in "Santa."
