KDX Worldround Radio has been planning to cover the Trump Military Parade Pageant set to happen in November, but plans have collapsed.
Grand Triumphant Parade Too Costly
The Third Reich didn't seem to have budget constraints when the Nazi Armies paraded down the streets of Berlin in the 1930s.
KDX was even planning to go full stereophonic.
Trump Takes Charge of the Cancelation
Upon learning his parade would be too expensive, the Big Boss "cancels" the parade.
Carl, you've got my curiosity aroused. How technically were you going to do the broadcast from Washington DC to your community? Your method might be something that would interest all of us.
If you want some event in the nation's capital to broadcast, I would consider the National Memorial Day Parade held every May. It's grandly patriotic (minus the weaponry), but with a hometown flavor that is fun to participate in.
Here is the link to the parade website, if it interests you.
Billy Burg Suggests "Consider the National Memorial Day Parade held every May."
Thank you Mr.Burg for the information... we will visit the website and become familiar with the Memo Day Parade.
Question: since there's already a parade every year, why doesn't Trump just invite himself to that one instead of holding a separate parade?
For coverage of the now-canceled parade, KDX would depend on permission from someone streaming the event, perhaps CSPAN, VOA, Democracy Now, WTOP in D.C., or anyone else that may have carried it.
If I took our portable equipment to D.C. there'd be no one back at the station to make the connection, which would be awkward. Someday we'll have a production truck.
The only right thing he's done.
Carl asked: "Since there’s already a parade every year, why doesn’t Trump just invite himself to that one instead of holding a separate parade?"
Because this one is about veterans -- alive and dead -- and their service to America, not about how many tanks we can roll down Pennsylvania Ave without buckling the pavement. New Yorkers have known it for decades and the rest of us are starting to figure it out: if it isn't about him, to hell with it.
Not a political comment, just the reality of the man.
That's It For Sure
I understand your explanation BillyBurg and realize the reality you point out...
it's sort of revealed in the fact that a parade for veterans wouldn't be acceptable...
it's got to be a parade about the IMPORTANCE in all capital letters of one man, above all of us with our low IQs.
And now back to our program.
