So, about.... oh, maybe 35 years ago or so... I made up some reports from Radar Central in International Falls, Minnesota as we were tracking Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. These are different from the North Pole reports I posted last year -- or two years ago... I don't even remember now...
But I always created a lot of special Christmas programming back in my heyday. These are short little reports you can drop in on Christmas Eve. They're maybe a minute total, each. Each report has a short (maybe 10 second) opener, then the report. Of course, back then in commercial radio I had to have an opener and a place to put the commercial!
I had completely forgot about these but I was up digging around in the attic again and in a box of my kids old stuffed animals there was a handful of reel to reel tapes. I read the label on these and honestly couldn't remember what the heck they were. Down to the studio I went, and here they are. If any of you have any possible use for them on your stations, feel free to use them. You're going to have to edit them and chop them up into individual reports. They're pretty generic and would work anywhere in the USA. I chose International Falls as the setting for the reporter as at the time I was working in Williston, ND and International Falls seemed far away, and is famous for it's cold weather and it's very north, and seemed like a good spot to be watching for Santa. Anyway, it's me, in my best cross between Herb Morrisson and Paul Harvey announcer voice, doing a remote broadcast from the radar station... Help yourself at:
