Starting this Friday (December 15), we're going to play unique Christmas music every other song on Artisan Radio starting from 6AM and running through to 5PM, excluding our hosted shows (such as Teenage Dreams at 2PM, the Oompah Hour at noon). These songs aren't the ones you'd normally hear during the holiday season. They're from a playlist I call A Slightly Bent Christmas (which I do over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) and they're, well, different.
Next week we'll be featuring a Teenage Dreams Christmas Special (Tuesdays 5PM, repeated Saturdays and Sundays 11AM). You'll hear such 1950s & 1960s (and even one 1970s) Christmas themed songs as Limbo Under the Christmas Tree by the Classic Four, Santa's Italian Wife by the Di Mara Sisters, A Not So Merry Christmas by Bobby Vee, It's Christmas by Marvin & Johnny and much more.
I started playing Christmas music around Dec 1st. It's mixed in with the regular freeform music playlist. I will go to all Christmas music at Noon on Christmas Eve and continue until about 3-6pm Christmas day. Then back to regular music programming.
In producing the movie 'Odessa File' the singer Perry Como was intentionally selected to sing a Christmas song heard over a car radio to fit the late 1950s cold war era.

Well, I don't know what to say about some of the posts in reply to my original one.
I so enjoyed putting together the Teenage Dreams Christmas special that I made another one as well, and Artisan Radio will be playing the 2nd one towards the end of the week at 2PM Pacific, replacing the repeats of earlier shows. That means you'll be able to enjoy a Teenage Dreams Christmas every day before Christmas. Tuesday at 5PM, Wednesday to Friday at 2PM, followed by Saturday & Sunday at 11AM.
I haven't yet worked out the schedule for Christmas week, but it will likely be Christmas all day Monday, and then back to our regular schedule the rest of the week.
We also have a special treat New Year's Eve - an as yet untitled Dance Party show, that will ring in the new year, hosted by Jeff Bleiel (who also does Wilson Beach Radio, Beautiful Sounds and others).
Here are some of the songs that we'll be playing: It's Christmas Once Again by Frankie Lyman (1957), The Merry Christmas Polka by Jim Reeves (1962 - and a special shout out to the Oompah Hour), From Me To You by Mae West (1966 - sometimes I ask myself why I do this) and Christmas Will be Just Another Lonely Day by Brenda Lee (1964).
Mr. Artisan Radio said: "Well, I don't know what to say about some of the posts in reply to my original one."
He probably refers to my submissions which could mistakenly be viewed as 'not pertaining to the original subject', but in fact my posts are gift-toids; which is to say, generous offerings of further ideas that Artisan might appreciate having for future program planning.
Christmas is a time for giving, and these are my gives.
