Made a couple of technological improvements to the station that include local news gathering tools, such as a scanner, local reporting effort with sources, and some spoofs. Also adding improved weather from the National Weather Guesser Service. Essentially, the station now has a news room.
Please elaborate, what kind of scanner are you referring to for gathering news? A police scanner? I searched for the "National Weather Guesser Service" because it sounded so intriguing but evidently it's not an actual thing (it ought to be though, what a great name!)
@richpowers It is a Uniden BCD536HP scanner. Seems nice. I hear everything that isn't encrypted or a packet. Frankly, listening to it in mid Missouri is boring. But I'll take boring to the excitement of the inner-city again! Me likes cows.
National Weather Guesser Service is my powerfully branded NWS from the gooberment. I think Carl's (@carl-blare) cheeky sense of humor is rubbing off on me!
I failed to mention regarding the news that I developed a small network of folks feeding me leads. Small town. Easy to do. I'll get great leads on the upcoming rodeo and county fair. Or maybe about mary jane possession!

How's that work?
@richpowers You know clerks, people who load your feed, guy who cuts your hair, cook at the restaurant, the mayor himself. Everyone wants to talk. It's more interesting than listening to that scanner! The big news recently was the tornado that ripped through the area in March.
@centinel I thought that was a picture of your station location at first!
@richpowers No. The station is on a lovely farm as of 2022, slightly over the horizon from Rolla, Mo.
Nice.
