I recently downgraded to version 1.4 in order to use plugins. Mistake. First of all , I lost all my events and had to reprogram them. Now I would like to go back to the latest version, but am dreading having to reprogram the events again. Is there a way to save them?

Zara automatically saves the event list as default.evt somewhere. Usually it's in "My Documents" but doesn't have to be.

Click on "SAVE" where your list of events is programmed. Choose a name and location for the file.

I've not tried running an event list created in 1.4 in a newer version but it might work. I have moved event lists from one PC to another and it worked as long as the file structure is all the same.

Here is a fine example of sometimes its a good idea to stick with what works.

One would think these software coders would recognize such a thing as an event program list and write the new version of the software to either be compatible with the previous version, or internally convert the older list format to the new format it will recognize.

The rush to throw out something new always brings with it problems. A good engineer, be it software or hardware or electronics..ALWAYS thinks ahead before making the giant leap and turns everyone's world into a mess.

The v1.4 event list works fine with v1.6.2.

So, just save your event list in v1.4 and open it in v1.6.x.

Assuming you have installed v1.6 on the same computer, the file structure should be the same and the event should work.
