I'd like to build five separate one-hour playlists in ZaraRadio, save them as separate playlists, then link them together for playback. Is this possible in the free version? Can't find any help in the manual. Or... is there a better way to build five hours' worth of music and jingles that will play sequentially? Thanks in advance!
What i have done in the past and it has worked for me is set up playlist 1, then at the very end of playlist 1 add playlist 2 (you have to creat each playlist seperatley) basically the same way you add the music tracks from the library, rinse lather and repeat for each playlist.
So at the end of playlist 2 there should be playlist 3 and so on.
Now i am sure there is another way to do this but what i have instructed here always worked for me.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks, Barry! Makes sense, and it sounds like it would work fine for me. Only problem is, I can't find any instructions in the manual on how to save a Playlist... and where it should be saved. Any guidance for me there?
Hello marosborne... While we're waiting for Rock95seven to get back I'll tell you some tricks I learned from Johny at Rag FM (a member here).
I have Zara running my continual program list all day, but sometimes I like to drop in an entirely separate playlist which contains a distinct set of programs, for example on Saturday night I play public domain audio books all night, so I have a Sequential playlist containing the book reading audiofiles.
There are two ways to make the Sequential List even while Zara is running on the air.
No. 1) You can open one of the four Auxiliary Channels and make a playlist in there, Save it from there, load it into your Air Playlist as another item in that playlist;
No. 2) Open a second instance of Zara while your Main Player is On the Air, empty out the 2nd Instance, load everything you need into it, Save it as a Sequence File, and load it into your Program the same way as in No. 1).
I hope my instructions are clear enough for you to understand.
Got it, Carl. Thanks for the tips!
One final thing about ZaraRadio that I can't seem to get right: I've got some nice sonovox tracks and other sweepers, most of them 5-10 seconds. ZaraRadio says that you have to tag these (in the file name) with a ~ followed by the number of seconds *before* the end of the track... where you'd like the crossfade to begin. I can't seem to get it to work. I've tried a few different things, and the program still waits until the track ends completely before it starts the next track.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Do you have the AGC function enabled? The computer might recognize the automatic gain control as a priority function over the crossfade. If you disable the AGC, you might have better luck. Try that.
In order for it to prioritize the ~seconds tags you need to disable end of song detection.
Thank you heartily Ken and Mighty for your sage advice. The issue still exists with the AGC off and with the "detect end of song" box unchecked. The ~ tags I've used work great on songs... but not on very short audio files like 5 and 6 second jingles.
Any further guidance/suggestions? (And by the way, everybody, thanks for staying with me this long!)
I have to admit this is a tad unusual, I've used tags on IDs in the past with no problem at all. AGC function shouldn't really effect anything as far as ~seconds is concerned.
I'm assuming you want a small portion of the ID to run over the start of a song?
Yes. I set my level to trigger the next sound file at -18db. Works fine with longer tracks, but not with short jingle-length tracks.
Add ~0 at the end of the filename of each short file.
