Found this in my dropbox folder, which I hadn't accessed since 2014, and dont recall where it came from.

It's titled: "StereoTool preset for AM transmitter 2.zip". which sounds very intriguing, but from whence it came?

From the zip, extracted a file named: "AM_transmitter_2.sts", the sts evidently a StereoTool extension. And that I opened up as a text document which reveals the coding.

So, anyone wanting to try this with Stereo Tool, simply copy the following into a text document and save as "AM_transmitter_2.sts" to import as a StereoTool preset.

Then come back and say how it performs with your transmitter.

The coding:

@richpowers  I can see why you didn't get around to doing anything with that code.

@carl-blare I didn't because I have no pc to try it on..

Please elaborate. I take it that you're saying it's not a good preset for AM?

@richpowers  The sts code we are talking about is probably excellent. Anyway, I know that StereoTool can be set for ideal and professional modulation of a quality AM transmitter. It would take all day to compare whether the code you posted is set for the best possible implementation of AM transmitter input, but it probably is. I only figured that its massive length might be a little off-putting for some one trying to decipher it.

@carl-blare No need to decipher it, just copy the text into notepad (or whatever) and save it as: AM_transmitter_2.sts, then load up in StereoTool as a preset.

@richardpowers  Right! My brain was turned off, but now I understand what you mean.

My StereoTool is not using the AM or FM special settings because I am using the StandAlone Version to feed AM and FM transmitters AND my Icecast stream.

One setting that I have is the Band Pass Filter, which I set for 40Hz - 10kHz, so that the AM signal does not splash outside of FCC specified bandwidth.
