A mixer allows you to connect several devices (microphones, CD players, record players etc), adjust levels and sometimes add effects so that you have a single output feed.  You can connect the output directly to your transmitter, or route it through your computer.

Going by the information in your post, which appears to be somewhat corrupted, input is a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) plug.  If you're adding any other devices, you'll need the appropriate cables (for things such as CD players, generally a pair of RCA ones).

As for other equipment, I would certainly add some audio processing to the mix - at the very least a compressor/expander/limiter (Behringer make decent, inexpensive, ones).  Some mixers have built in limiters, but I can't tell if yours has.  Audio processing will give your signal more 'punch' (i.e., loudness) and in the case of the Talking House, make it sound much better.  You would feed the compressor with the output of the mixer, and the output of the compressor would go to the transmitter.

Your mixer appears to have a built in equalizer, so that gives you some control over the audio at a minimum.

I suppose among my many questions is, What is a "family KTV"?

Beyond that though, there isn't a lot of information to go by in your message. How many inputs does this mixer have? What sources are you plugging into it?

The only places I could find "mixer KTV" was on eBay and Amazon. If I know which model I should be looking at, I will be in a much better position to suggest cabling etc. Please provide a link.
