Not sure if you can really call this an equipment review but it is an excellent tool. I used to use this quite frequently about 5 years and more ago to edit bad words out of certain songs that used to play on a computer I set up at the public pavilion here at the beach when I worked there (now days they just use Pandora).
I would open the song, select only the portion with the bad word, and flip it (so that word played backwards). Or I could do the same for an entire verse - So when the song played you couldnt tell what was said. It also comes in handy to just edit down a podcast or something into a shorter version.
Well no big deal you say, but what makes it so special is that it does not re-encode the song, thus doesnt decrease its present quality or introduce artifacts whe you do it.
This all came to mind a few days ago but I couldn't remember what it was called.. But today it occurred to me to check my old blog, and yes, I had posted about almost 10 years ago. I promise you that you'll find uses for this making it indispensable! It really works well, and its free. Its called mp3DirectCut

Oh, forgot to mention.. The link provided in my old review no longer is valid. Their new website is https://mpesch3.de/
@RichardPowers What a smart tool! Yes, there are many times when I was troubled by the loss of quality when editing MP3 audio. Now a whole world opens up. Big thank you for this!
