I finally tested the famous $150 Rode PodMic and its sound quality equals Shure — but there’s a catch

This is the mic angels sing into

Although the Rode PodMic requires an audio interface to work and can’t plug in directly to your computer, there’s a reason. It’s a broadcast-quality mic, so requires a pre-amp, and, boy, does it sound good. It records voices faithfully — and is, without a doubt, professional quality...

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but XLR only and requires interface..

...if you want a mic that makes you sound like a pro (or like the pro you are), then the PodMic is ideal. Find out the full story in this Rode PodMic review..."

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I'd like to see others compare their mic's to this mic. I would guess many of you have good mic's like this or the Shure, without having looked it up I presume is pricey.

I've yet to do much audio production other than using text to speech, but am working towards that quickly. So this mic interests me but even it has a price tag higher than I was thinking.

I own a pod mic but I found it a little bright for me.You can buy a usb version of it as well. My go to mic in the studio is a Rode Procaster, It has a fuller sound than the pod mic but cost's a lot more.
