The CFA was invented by Maurice Hately and first patented in 1992, after which all rights were transferred Robert E. Richer, who has been actively seeking FCC authorization for his antenna by the FCC for the AM band.
What distinguishes the CFA is its comparatively small size compared to ordinary AM masts and its ability to function without large-area grounding.

Don't waste your time even thinking about these contraptions. The ownership of WGFP in Webster, MA was foolish enough to dismantle their perfectly functional unipole so that the company who makes this gimmick could use their facility for an experiment. The signal is a pale shadow of what it once was and can barely reach Worcester, let alone northern areas of the state where they were once heard. The facility has yet to recover from the boondoggle. The laws of physics never change an if it ain't broke, don't fix it! If CF's destroy licensed AM's, imagine what they would do to a Part 15.
