Hi Guys Sorry i’m not on much been busy antenna construction and manuals etc.
Let me tell you about the antenna i built and used.
I will not Disclose to much do to i’m still making update to the antenna.
EQUIPMENT USED:
1) Talking House 5.0 with original power supply.
2) 25 feet of RG6u cable loss loss. ( I found using any more length loss was more noticeable)
3) Talking Sign Atu ( Fcc Approved )
4) Antenna Is aprox 6 foot in length. ( This Is all i disclose at this time ).
5) NOTE: NO COMPRESSOR OR LIMITER WAS USED IN TEST !!!!
SETUP:
1) Talking House 5.0 TX was in garage, 3 feet 8 inches from floor to bottom of tx in a single level home.
2) ATU & ANT Was placed 15 feet and 8 inches away from the house in a east direction.
3) ATU Was mounted 5 feet 3 inches from ground and meter faced north.
4) ANTENNA Was mounted 6 feet of ground. ( Ground to bottom of ant element ).
5) Attached 75 ohm cable to TX Then placed cable 5 feet 3 inches off ground and ran in a horzontial position to the ATU unit.
6) REPEAT NO EXTRA GROUND WAS ADDED !!!!
Just antenna & power supply Ground that came with the talking house 5.0 transmitter!!!
RANGE:
1) Truck Radio Used PANASONIC DP22
2) My North and west where my better range. 4 miles good, 4.6 mile fringed.
3) My east and south was not to hot. 1/2 mile good, up to 1 mile very spotty.
When i drove out north i put my radio audio volume on 20 i only really had 1 complete small drop out ( 2 feet ),But the rest was a good signal.
To give you an idea on what my signal was take a commercial 1,000 watt am station about 40 mile from you that’s what my signal sound like at 2 mile and even at 4 miles away on a car radio.
I will reply to your questions,But please give me time i’m a busy person at this time.
If You would like more information you can find me at the ALPB meeting and you can always ask me question there.
ALPB Meeting 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at 8pm eastern time.

Did you try a range test with
Did you try a range test with no or minimal feed line?
feed line
Hi: yes i have ,But i tested with other am transmitter and did see a difference in range when using No or very short transmission line.
when using very low rf power it is common knowleged the shorter the transmission line is or No transmission line you will do better on your range and also depends on your setup.
IF you read my blog I said I used a talking sign atu unit.
And I mention if you go past 25 feet of cable I also notice loss in signal as well.
I have spent allot of time testing and building various antenna design to get maximum range with low powerpower.
Station 8
So what was the range with no
So what was the range with no feed line?
Range With No Feedline
Hi Artisan & Others:
1) I have Not tried Talking House 5.0 with NO Transmission feed line
2) I did try with other am transmitter and i saw a range difference and clearing up of dead spots and making signal stronger in prior weak areas.
3) I would be hard to give you a accurate range due to every transmitter works different, You have to account for power output of unit, loading of antenna and any loss. Etc.
4) But on avarage range i saw anywhere from 1/8 mile to up to 1 mile again depending on the transmitter complete setup .
TALKING HOUSE 5.0
As for the Talking House 5.0 unit on it’s internal wire antenna tuner you only can use a 10 foot wire max and it’s in it’s manual.
Any longer wire and it will not tune i have tried this to verify what company said to be true.
I have tried my antenna on the internal unit just to try and verify and it did ok, But not great.
But it did better with the 75 ohm setup and the atu so the antenna can be properly tune to transmitter.
From my experience when you shorten the transmission cable or no cable your dead spots and weak area willl fill up first due to the shorter or NO cable.
Now because the Talking House 5.0 output is 92.5 mw ( by company paper work )on the 75 ohm line the shoter the better do to loss.
like i will say range will be different for everyone and the installation they use.
You need to take in Location setup , Antenna mount, Near trees, Near metal objects,Etc.
height of transmitter and antenna.
Use of good grade coax.
So range will be difficult to determine.
Example you have 2 guys with the identical setup.
Guy 1 uses junk material and will say his range to be 1/2 to 3/4 mile.
Guy 2 uses High grade material and his ranged show about 2 miles.
I hope this explane something, I will be at the ALPB meeting for any question and you can chew my ear off.

Another Test
Hi Guys: Test and Range check.
Date: November 5, 2015
Time: 12:00 to 1:00 pm Eastern Time.
Weather: Partly Cloudy Clear and Hot.
SETUP:
1) Talking House 5.0 Transmitter.
2) 6 Inch of 75 ohm cable.
3) Talking Sign Atu Unit.
4) Antenna Aprox 6 feet.
5) Outdoor power cable 3 prong.( 25 feet long )
6) Surge Protector.
LAYOUT:
1) Layed power cable on ground and stretch to the east 15 feet away.
2) Talking House 5.0 Tx was 4 feet 9 inches of the ground.
3) ATU was 4 feet 11 inches of the ground.
4) Antenna was 6 feet of the ground.
RANGE TEST:
Was not bad at all it compared to the original test in range.
One difference that i notice was that my east got stronger.
As i reached my 2 and 4 mile point north i notice the signal was more stronger then the original test like i said would happen do to the use of a shorter cable.
As a number for signal quality 1 (Bad Signal ) to 5 ( Execellent Signal ) .
Original signal test using the 25 foot 75 ohm cable at the 2 and 4 mile points north would be about a 2.5 signal rating.
The second test using the 6 inch 75 ohm cable at the 2 and 4 mile points north would be about a 3.5 signal rating.
If you would like to ask me question feel free to ask and if you can make it at the ALPB meeeting i sure can fill you in there as well.

Antenna Information
Hi Guys:This is just to give you an update on the antenna.
Beside using on the antenna on the Talking House 5.0 i will be testing on other transmitters
Like Talking Sign, SStran 5000 , C-Quam am stereo Tx – Chris Cuff, The Gray tx on ebay,Aspisys tx.
I been looking at company to produce a machined antenna with no response from any companys at this time but still working on it.
If i had a laythe i could do it myself,so i have to wait.
when the machine antenna is done i will test again to make sure range is good.
I have come up with a 3rd version of this antenna as well which will keep the length under 3 meter as well.
If you would like to ask question give me time to respond do to busy doing various jobs at once.
And you can find me at the ALPB meeting to ask question on the antenna .

This just hit me like a ton
This just hit me like a ton of bricks. You may be able to get it done for cheap or FREE just the price of the material and here is how. Teachers in the school machine shop teach kids how to cut metal and to work the lathe and us a micrometer to cut to a specific diameter. Since your antenna needs to be screwed together so it could easily come apart and shipped they could mold the copper pipe and cut the holes for the wire to go into the antenna. Some schools also have an electronics class and they could make the ATU’s. And for schools that want to teach speech or broadcasting they could have a part 15 AM station where they test the antenna. Each antenna would have to reach 4 miles or close to it. In return for the school making your antenna’s you do a lecture on Radio and teach them how they can use their part 15 AM station as a teaching tool and to broadcast good programming that would also help a community. Thus you help part 15, people would visit the school who is participating and you get known for your work. I’ll also send this idea to you in an Email too. Like I said your antenna could get out and you then charge a little later on if you want to.
Is this antenna
Is this antenna omnidirectional or directional (i.e., do you get 4+ miles range in every direction)?
That is what he is shooting
That is what he is shooting for. However you should read the blog and antenna reports as he does try and tweak things. Plus being a part of the ALPB meetings also helps. There is one comong up Saturday. I hope everyone can attend it.

Hi Artisan: The Antenna is non directional.
As for antenna pattern you should know am does not give you a good 360 degree pattern it goes one way better.
And from my experience it vary’s on your set up as well for your pattern.
I have tried various tx and found each one is different in range and pattern.
I also can tell you from experience these part 15 Am tx acts allot different then the commerical am tx.
In my test i have 25 am transmitters and i found some work great without a ground.
Also in my other test i found some also needed a ground or otherwise it does not get out at all.
If anyone has question about my antenna write yourself a question list to ask me.
Then you can ask me at the ALPB meetings and i can answer you question easier.
