6-Letter Call Sign from Near Here

Back in the 1960s a local man started a new radio station and used his name for call letters. I think his name was “Cady,” pronounced like “lady.” The station name switched the “C” to a “K.”

Back in the 1960s a local man started a new radio station and used his name for call letters. I think his name was “Cady,” pronounced like “lady.” The station name switched the “C” to a “K.”

Here’s what I THOUGHT I heard:

“This is K-D-K-A-D-Y.

Here’s what the announcer was actually saying:

“This is “Kady;” K-A-D-Y.”
